Bob Duff: Zadina signs entry-level contract The Detroit Red Wings have locked up winger Filip Zadina to an entry-level contract and believe that it's almost a certainty he will play pro next season.

This last draft was really exciting. Zadina, Veleno, McIsaac. Shocking haul. But, free agency was a bucket of ice water. I really want to see a couple kids on this roster

I agree with you. I still don’t understand the Vanek signing in Motown. They seem so afraid to just rhn with the youth like so many other teams have done. They already have Zetterberg, Nielsen, Helm, Abdelkader and a few other vets. Leave more room for younger guys and just make the transition.

Love that this kid has a chip on his shoulder . Going to make at least 3 teams rethink draft day.

Ken Holland has some kind of hang up that you MUST have a bunch of over-paid not very good veterans ALWAYS on the roster. Even if you're not good enough to make the playoffs and it takes roster spots away from the young talent / prospects. He's delayed the proper rebuild by 4-5 years with his terrible contracts to the veterans. That's Ken Holland's method and it will not ever change.

Most us were hoping Holland's contract would not be extended / renewed but he still got a 2-year extension despite his terrible asset management of this team since 2009.

It's Ken Holland, need I say more. Nothing he ever does makes sense, sadly.
